Take a break — Rest is often the last change dedicated exercisers will introduce, thinking that it is a step backward. Too long can be, but a week’s break can help your body, and your mind, to fully recover. When going to the gym starts to feel like a grind, then consider taking time off. Look to do that every 8 to 12 weeks.

 

It’s easy to fall into a routine with anything, and certainly with our workouts. We often do what we know and rarely deviate from that path, but if want to see continued muscle growth and strength gains then walking a different fitness road every now and then will get you closer to that goal.
